Brotherhood of St. Andrew

Brotherhood of St. Andrew is a ministry " for the spread of Christ's Kingdom among men and youth in the Episcopal and Anglican Communion." Members follow a rule of prayer, study and service and strive to model responsible evangelistic behavior. First founded in 1883 by a small group of young Episcopalians at a downtown Chicago church, there are currently 25 chapters in the Diocese of Texas.

Annual Meeting
Men get together in small discussions about what's going on, sharing ideas and having fellowship among those who work to spread God's word. Part of the retreat is devoted to the business of the Assembly. This session usually last about an hour where:

  • all learn what is going on,
  • elect the officers and
  • decide of the next years' efforts.

Lots Chapter
The Lord of the Streets Mission services the homeless community in the heart of Houston. The Brotherhood Chapter provides to the members support and teaching for their road to recovery as well as a spiritual path away from their dependencies.

The Chapter meets on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month at 8 a.m. at the LOTS Center.

In the fall the Diocesan Brotherhood Assembly gather high risk youth at the Diocesan Camp Allen for a weekend of fun, food and challenge conducted in prayer, study and witness.

This is a weekend where members of the Diocesan Brotherhood Chapters come together in a common effort to promote the understanding of importance of having Jesus Christ at the center on one's life to promote healing of the entire body and one life. The youth enjoy food and fun, teaching and worship.
