UH Canterbury
Bringing the good news of Christ to the campus of the University of Houston, We encourage students to know Christ and walk with him.
About us
UH Canterbury is the Episcopal outreach for students and staff at the University of Houston Central Campus. We are here to serve students, helping them grow in their spiritual faith with Christ. Our friendly office is located at room 205 in the A. D. Bruce Religion Center. We welcome anybody who wants help with open hospitality. We host a number of events including: a free ecumenical lunch each Monday from 11:30am -1pm, an Alpha course for students, various outreach opportunities, and fun nights for fellowship.
The UH Canterbury Chaplain, Rev. Daniel Bohorquez, works part time at the campus as well as vicar for Iglesia Cristo Rey, a Hispanic mission. He is from Peru and has been living in Houston for 9 years. He has traveled widely to many nations including Bolivia, Chile, Argentina, Spain, and England. He has had opportunity to study with various Anglican scholars.
The office volunteer, Cynthia Bohorquez, works part time at the campus, is a full time mother, and has a music education degree from University of Texas at El Paso. She leads worship each Sunday and is also the acting Youth Leader at Iglesia Cristo Rey.
