Vocare in the Diocese of Texas
A Ministry on Vocation for Young Adults
Vocare Prayer: Lord, let me know clearly the work which you are calling me to do in life. And grant me every grace I need to answer your call with courage and love and lasting dedication to your will. Amen.

Vocare (vo-car-ee), Latin for “to call,” is a ministry for young adults in the Diocese of Texas that focuses on spiritual formation, renewal and vocational calling.
The mission of Vocare is to provide tools, community, support and guidance for young adults as they begin to explore their spirituality and spiritual calling in their adult lives.
Vocare was created in 1979 in the Diocese of Texas and has since become an international ministry with ministries across the United States, Canada and South Africa. Vocare weekends are facilitated by young adults in conjunction with spiritual directors and diocesan leadership.
Vocare strives to meet each young adult where their need is in the process of spiritual discovery and advancement through interactive workshops, group discussion, fellowship, personal reflection and worship.

Expectations
We acknowledge that people come to Vocare weekends for different reasons: a break from the everyday, spiritual awakening, appreciation of nature, peace and quiet or fellowship with other young adults. With this in mind, expect a weekend that meets these various needs. A Vocare weekend allows for group discussion, interactive workshops, fellowship, reflection and worship. This time is set aside to help discern God’s call and determine the steps needed to fulfill that call.
