Mission Congregations M11 Total Dollar: $1,019,800 Mission Funding dollars are used to support new congregations, congregations moving from Mission to Parish status, multi-cultural ministries, and churches with specific development needs, helping all to go forth stronger, making disciples…sharing Christ’s love…transforming lives…changing the world!
College Ministry CM11 Total Dollar: $824,819 We are blessed in the Diocese of Texas to have the largest College Ministry in the Episcopal Church, allowing us to have an Episcopal presence on 17 college campuses. Each Canterbury center provides a family away from home, a haven of safety, offering support and guidance to help our students with a way to grow in their knowledge of Jesus Christ.
Outreach Ministries OT11 Total Dollar: $664,019 Christ commanded us to see those in need and to respond with generosity and compassion. The Diocese of Texas has identified Episcopal and ecumenical agencies, interfaith networks, diocesan committees and chaplaincies that represent collective efforts to minister to others. Christ’s love is made manifest through our outreach efforts.
Diocesan Support Ministries DSM11 Total Dollar: $223,537 Diocesan Ministries provide continuing resources for our missionary outposts through networks, commissions, committees and divisions. Over the past few years, these support ministries have created extraordinary opportunities for education, formation and support. These resources enable all missionary outposts to live more fully into their congregational potential.
Bishop’s Mission and Support for Congregations B11 Total Dollar: $300,000 Mission opportunities and challenges frequently occur that were unforeseen at the time of the Mission Funding budget process. These funds provide the Bishop Diocesan with the resources to respond to situations that require his assistance, attention, or intervention to address urgent needs of our congregations.
Cooperative Projects CP11 Total Dollar: $53,868 The vision of being “OneChurch in Mission” compels us as faith communities to come together and envision possibilities for ministry. When three or more congregations capture the excitement of a single vision, much is accomplished. The Cooperative Projects listed here are examples of what it means to be a united missionary people.
The Episcopal Church EC11 Total Dollar: $1,756,000 The Episcopal Church is made up of between two and three million worshipers in about 7500 congregations across the United States and related dioceses outside the US. The ChurchCenter in New York City provides program and ministry assistance for the Church nationally, for many foreign mission programs, and is headed by Presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori.
Budget Shortages UC11 Total Dollar: $100,000 To uphold the Mission Funding process in which congregations have the option of supporting specific ministries, the Executive Board decided to fully honor commitments made to the ministries following budget approval. However, it is likely that some amount of our total commitments will not be met. By assigning some of your designated responses to this section, we will be able to provide for unforeseen financial problems that arise.
