Stewardship
The pages found here are to be a resource for the many different communities in our diocese. We provide these resources because we feel that stewardship is a vital part of everything we do. Stewardship isn’t just about money; it’s about all we do with all the gifts that God has given us
Vision Statement The Diocesan Stewardship Team seeks and explores, with open minds and expectant spirits, all opportunities for each person regardless of race, gender or age, to develop a full awareness that they are stewards of all they are given and are ministers in their every day lives in accordance with the Baptismal Covenant. By accepting stewardship as a way of life each person seeks, serves, and shares Christ with all creation they encounter. Through this broad ministry, partnered with God’s help, all needs of the Diocese of Texas will be embraced and the spiritual health of the Church will grow.
Stewardship Commission Raising awareness of the foundational role that stewardship plays in Christian lives has been a priority of the Diocese of Texas. Intentional efforts to foster stewardship education are overseen by the diocesan Stewardship Commission. This group is responsible for the annual Bishop’s Conference on Stewardship. In addition, they actively work toward goals which will enhance stewardship in the Diocese of Texas. Current goals include :
- Developing a roster of speakers who will visit congregations to speak
on the subject of stewardship.
- Identifying and training individuals with stewardship development experience
who will work with congregations to design stewardship campaigns and education.
- Providing seminars on legacy stewardship.
- Creating a collection of resources which can be utilized by congregations.
- Sponsoring an annual conference on stewardship. Contact Julie Heath for registration details at 713-353-2125
- Developing resources for a stewardship of the environment.
