Join us in honoring and celebrating the participants in the music ministry of our church at the 10:15 service. Joining us for this special day will be Houston soprano Melissa Givens. A faculty member at Houston Baptist University, Givens is an extremely versatile artist, regularly performing repertoire from the Baroque era through music of the 21st century. She is in demand on concert series throughout the United States and Europe, including recent recitals in Austin, Houston and Buffalo. A champion of collaborative musical endeavors, she performs with various chamber music groups as well as the nationally acclaimed ensemble Conspirare. Her solo appearance on their recent Clarion Records release, requiem: we are so lightly here, was favorably noted in the Austin Chronicle, and her music making with Conspirare has been nominated for a Grammy. She can also be heard on her solo compact disc, let the rain kiss you. Also singing at the service is the Good Shepherd Choir, the St. Gregory Choir, and the Good Shepherd Handbell Guild.
