A fantastic opportunity for those working in Outreach, Missions, and Social Justice.
Too often well-intentioned ministry harms, rather than helps, and perpetuates the cycle of poverty. Come to this workshop and re assess your understanding of poverty
If you are looking to counter poverty or its impact on people and businesses in your community, Bridges Out of Poverty solutions give you the structures, ideas, and concrete tools a community needs to prevent, reduce, and alleviate poverty. Bridges Out of Poverty is a book and an approach that helps employers, community organizations, social-service agencies, and individuals address poverty in a comprehensive way. People from all economic classes come together to improve job retention rates, build resources, improve outcomes, and support those who are moving out of poverty.
The presenter, Jodi Pfaar, brings to her audiences the knowledge gained from direct experience with not-for-profit organizations and with police agencies. She holds a Master of Divinity degree and has been a certified critical debriefer and police chaplain. As a manager, she has dealt with issues of low income, mental illness, and/or chemical dependency. She has supervised low income housing units and the Special Needs Shelter for the Salvation Army.
She wrote Tactical Communication for Law Enforcement and produced a DVD, Jodi's Stories: a companion piece to Bridges Out of Poverty.
Jodi has been a presenter and consultant for the aha! Processes since 2001 and is qualified to teach Bridges out of Poverty, Applying Bridges Concepts, Understanding Class for Law Enforcement, What Every Church Member Should Know About Poverty, Hidden rules of Class at Work, and Framework for Community Audiences.
