Bishop Rob Wright of Atlanta, joins Jamie Clark-Soles, author and professor of New Testament at Perkins School of Theology, SMU, Dallas as keynoters for THE CONFERENCE on evangelism, stewardship and formation, May 2-4, 2014. Kristine Miller, vice president of Horizons Stewardship and the board of The Episcopal Network for Stewardship, brings her considerable expertise to THE Conference as the third keynoter. Scott Bader-Saye, professor of Christian Ethics and Moral Theology at Seminary of the Southwest will provide the final keynote address on Sunday morning preceding the closing Jazz Eucharist.

Wright, a former Navy helicopter crew chief and search and rescue diver, worked as a child advocate for two mayors before attending seminary at Virginia Theological Seminary and at Cambridge.  He brings his enthusiasm and flair for evangelism to Texas for THE CONFERENCE, in its second year.

According to the Huffington Post, Clark-Soles’ most recent book, Engaging the Word: The New Testament and the Christian Believer, “exposes readers to some of the ‘hot topics’ in New Testament study and why they matter for everyday faith.”

Workshops are planned in addition to seminars by the keynote speakers, several of which will be offered in Spanish. Workshop presenters include: Eric Law, a nationally known consultant on diversity-skills training and “Holy Currencies: Emergent Conversations on Money and Sustainable Ministry”; Linda Grenz, CEO and founder of Leader Resources and church consultant; Mary Parmer, creator of Invite, Welcome, Connect, training for welcoming and incorporating newcomers and many more. Click here for a schedule.

During the weekend event, 20 roundtable discussions on many facets of evangelism, stewardship and formation will take place. This popular offering allows participants to spend 20 minutes learning or sharing best practices before changing to another table during the one and a half hour time period.

The jazz musicians from St. James, Austin will provide entertainment on Saturday evening and provide music for Sunday worship.

Make plans now to attend as this conference, which combines three former conferences into one (Evangelism, Stewardship and Formation) promises to be a sell out. See more information and register here.
