As Anglicans we hold the Scriptures to be our primary source of authority, but not isolated from reason and tradition. We support biblical scholarship and allow science to inform us about the world as we seek to use all God's gifts to help inform and guide us in seeking the will of God, the courage to pursue it and the grace to accomplish it, being guided by the Holy Spirit.
The Diocese of Texas has the extraordinary opportunity of having the largest collegiate ministry in the Episcopal Church.
We are called to serve these vibrant communities as agents of Christ's grace, love and acceptance. Canterbury is one part of our total campus ministry which seeks to serve as a safe haven, a source of support and guidance, and a place of spiritual nourishment and hope for students.
The Missioners who serve at fifteen college campuses within the Diocese of Texas continue to assess ways to better serve each of these unique communities of higher education. Creative efforts are underway to impact more effectively those who teach, serve and learn in these settings.
