Information, Tools & Resources

The Parish Administrators' Collaborative is a group of church administrators who gather regularly online and in person to share ideas and best practices. The hope is that groups will form from each convocation and that a larger gathering can be planned in the future. The initial gathering of the Collaborative consists of people with parish administration duties in the West Harris Convocation. Others are invited to join, and perhaps begin face to face meetings in their own convocation. The goal is to help clergy and other church leaders with the "business" of the church, enabling them to focus on ministry. "We get together monthly to discuss predetermined larger topics, and touch base about smaller items on our Facebook page,” said Phil Berrie, founder of the W. Harris Collaborative group and parish administrator at Emmanuel, Houston. Future meeting dates and topics are included on the calendar.

The collaborative uses Facebook to discuss shorter/smaller/easier topics, to archive larger in-person discussions and to share helpful files. It is called “EDOT Parish Administrators” and is a closed group; anyone on Facebook can find the group and see who is in it, but only members can see posts. Please email Phil Berrie if you would like to be added to the Facebook group or go to this page and click "join." Once your request is approved, you will be able to see and post to the page.
