Safeguarding God's People

"The Diocese of Texas is committed to providing a healthy, safe, and nurturing environment where, by God's grace, the full work of the Church can be carried out. Sexual misconduct on the part of any clergyperson, employee, or volunteer of any congregation, institution, organization, school or agency within the Diocese violates the mission of the Church, is prohibited, and will not be tolerated."

Safeguarding God's People: preventing sexual harassment and sexual exploitation of church workers pg.6

The preceding is quoted from our diocesan Policy on Sexual Misconduct.  Safeguarding God's People, preventing sexual harassment and sexual exploitation, is the adult counterpart to Safeguarding God's Children - preventing abuse of children and youth.

The Safe Church Office currently is offering two types of SGP trainings:

     1. Preparing individuals to lead the three hour SGP - preventing sexual exploitation training in their congregations. Rectors choose and refer persons to attend this 7.5 hour training. Training dates are posted on the Calendar and training dates links below. Registration forms may be requested by emailing

      2. Clergy Only trainings are scheduled four times a year and are required of all clergy, resident and licensed, in the Diocese of Texas. The session runs from 9:30 - 3:30 and include both SGP trainings: preventing sexual exploitation and preventing sexual harassment. Click on the links below for training dates and registration form.
