ELECTION DAY INFORMATION
The Special Session of the 163rd Council of the Diocese of Texas, called for the purpose of electing a Bishop Suffragan, will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2012, at Christ Church Cathedral in Houston. The cathedral will open at 8:00 a.m. for coffee and kolaches with the Opening Eucharist beginning at 9:00. Following the service, the cathedral will be cleared and reconfigured for Council and only those with appropriate credentials will be allowed in for the special session.
The cost is $25 and includes a boxed lunch. Online registration closed on May 18. Only those delegates who registered in advance have assigned seats in the cathedral. Seating for alternates and visitors will be in the Great Hall which will have closed circuit feed from the cathedral.
Late Registration will begin at 8:00 a.m. on the day of the event. Delegates registering the day of the event will be seated at the back of the cathedral, not with their delegations.
Free parking will be available in the cathedral garage on San Jacinto Street and in the Binz Garage, located at the northwest corner of Texas and Fannin. A limited number of hotel rooms are available for Friday night at The Magnolia for the diocesan rate of $119.
