St. David’s, Austin, Hosted First “Caminando con Cristo” Retreat in Austin

On April 6, the first Caminando con Cristo (Walking with Christ) retreat in the Austin area took place.

Nearly 100 lay leaders and clergy gathered from St. Mary Magdalene, Manor, and Austin churches San Francisco de Asis, St. John’s, and St. James’. Many of the participants said this was a refreshing and renewing experience which inspired them to continue to grow in their discipleship. The music was a love offering from different churches with performers Alfonso Hernandez, Troy Cooley, Roderico Pachan, Ignacio Cac, Manuel Figueroa, Lucia Chavez, Ruth Dinarte and Francisco Chavez. When we share resources, there is more than enough. The church is alive; you and I are the church.

The leadership would like to thank St. David’s, Austin, and Rev. Angela Cortinas for their hospitality as the hosting church and for supporting the Hispanic/Latino ministry in the Austin area.

St. James’, Austin, will be the host church for the next Caminando con Cristo retreat on Saturday, Oct. 12. Let us continue to walk with Christ and take Christ to the world!
