Gospel Concert Benefits St. Vincent's House

Galveston Island will fill with the sounds of joy when the 10th Annual Gospel by the Sea concert returns June 11. The benefit concert raises funds for St. Vincent’s House, a social service agency and clinic for Galveston’s underserved. The concert moves to the spacious Moody Memorial First United Methodist Church Christian Life Center and offers free admission to those Gulf Coast residents who are still struggling with the aftermath of Hurricane Ike and coping with the current economic downturn.

KTRK’s Melanie Lawson returns as Mistress of Ceremonies for the 2011 benefit event, which features performances by Drew Johnson & Neo Praize, Galveston Heritage Chorale, By My Side, Sibu, Bible Days Sanctuary Choir, GMWA Houston Mass Choir, West Point Baptist Church Choir, Macedonia Baptist Church and St. Vincent’s House’s Seeds of Tomorrow choir.

St. Vincent’s House is one of the few non-profit social sercive agencies providing comprehensive services and community outreach programs for the entire family, designed to meet the real and immediate needs for food, shelter, healthcare and childcare. For more information, go to
