Nurturing Vocations Among Young Adults

Influenced by Bishop Claude Payne’s desire to raise up young Christian leaders for the Episcopal Church and his call to restore the missionary power of the church, Seminary of the Southwest has launched this spring.  A resource to campus ministries and parishes and to young adults discerning their Christian vocation as lay and ordained leaders, will pair young leaders with ministry opportunities throughout the country.

The Parish Fellowship Program, is MyMinistry’s premier program for postgraduate Christian leadership development. It aims to prepare recent college graduates to be active builders of Christ’s kingdom and to fill ready parishes with these passionate and faithful young adults. The young leaders will receive practical experience in the ministry workplace, develop relationship-building skills through mentoring, and gain knowledge in biblical/theological studies to help them integrate their faith, work and service in Christ’s name.

This summer Seminary of the Southwest launched a new Twitter chat series, “#mySSW” in hopes of stirring up young adult and campus ministry buzz beyond its campus in Austin. Follow the “Ministry in Action” blog and learn more about the Parish Fellowship Program at
