SUMMARY:Small Church Network Gathering - Spring 2025
DESCRIPTION:Join Bishop Fisher and members of the Diocese of Texas staff for our Spring Small Church Network Gathering at Camp Allen\, Sunday\, March 30—Monday\, March 31\, 2025.   \nRegistration will begin at 4pm on Sunday. There will social time with Bishop Fisher\, dinner\, then program starting at 7pm.  We will wrap up our time together with lunch on Monday.  Our theme this spring is:  “Formation and the Art of Seed Casting”; welcoming Canon Josh Ritter as our keynote speaker.  \nPlease register for this Small Church Network gathering at www.campallen.org/registerforevents.html\n(Scholarships Available!)  \nCheck in will begin at 4pm on Sunday. \nThere will be social time with Bishop Fisher at 5pm\, dinner\, \nthen program starting at 7pm. \nWe will wrap up our time together with lunch on Monday. \nPlease contact Kathy Dunn (kdunn@epicenter.org) if you need assistance. \nDr. Ritter describes our time together as follows:\nWe all have our own ideas about what formation is and is supposed to be in our congregations and communities. Some of us may think of Sunday School\, curriculum\, and Christian education. Some of us may think of new programs\, retreats\, small groups\, or Bible studies\, and of course\, these are all vital pieces of formational work at the level of knowing\, knowledge\, and in-formation about formation. But let us not stop here at the level of knowing or information exchange. Jesus calls us more deeply to the art of seed casting\, and as small churches\, you are uniquely positioned to hone and craft this art in powerful and transformative ways. So\, let’s explore together some of the practical habits\, skills\, and practices that are needed for the formational Christian art of seed casting. \nAs a reminder: Small Church Network Gatherings are twice a year (spring and fall)\, offered to all people in our smaller congregations\, generally average Sunday attendance of 50 or fewer.
