Mission Statement of Music Commission
By appointment of the Bishop, the Church Music Commission serves the laity and clergy of the Diocese of Texas by providing support services regarding the conduct and performance of worship music at both the parish and Diocesan levels. The Commission aids local parish musicians in their continuing education of church members.

Events: The 62nd Annual Episcopal Diocese of Texas Diocesan Choral Festival
The 62nd Annual Episcopal Diocese of Texas Diocesan Choral Festival will take place at St. James' Church, Houston on Sunday, November 20, 2022. This year's Festival will be conducted by Julia Hall, a local Episcopalian who is the chair of the Vocal Music Department at Kinder High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Houston. Our Choral Evensong will feature service music by Thomas Tallis, as well as the Anthem, "The Lord is King" by St. James' Organist/Choirmaster Calvin Fuller. Both Ms. Hall and Mr. Fuller served for many years on the Diocesan Music Commission, working on projects such as our Music Camp and the yearly Choral Festival.
All singers are welcome to participate in the Festival rehearsal, which will begin at 3 PM. The Evensong Service is open to the public and will take place at 5 PM, with a Reception following.
