Who Needs - Safeguarding God's Children Certification?

  • All Clergy
  • Heads of School
  • All Paid Employees of Diocesan Organizations
  • Contracted Service Providers and Charters  (Ex: Kidventure)
  • Adult Volunteers for Children's Ministries and Schools
  • Safeguarding Records Administrators and Safeguarding Coordinator
  • Personnel as noted in the SGC Policies

  • Lay Eucharistic Visitors
  • Leaders and Facilitators of Ministries
  • Safeguarding Records Administrators and Safeguarding Coordinator

 Who Needs - Safeguarding God's People in the Workplace, Harassment Certification?

  • All Diocesan Organization Employees

It is important to renew Safeguarding Certifications every 5 years. If you're due for re-certification, please coordinate with the Safeguarding Records Administrator at your location.

New Clergy, it is required that you complete your Safeguarding training's within 90 days of hire (New and New to EDOT). SGC may be completed at any EDOT location. However, the SGP-clergy training is clergy specific and facilitated by the Canon for Wellness and Care/Safeguarding Minister. Please contact the Safeguarding Office for registration information.
