Ten Days in Costa Rica: A Journey of Purpose, Faith, and Transformation

Ten unforgettable days in Costa Rica—marked by purpose, deep reflection, and the presence of God at every turn—left a lasting impact on the youth from the Episcopal Diocese of Texas. Guided by faith and rooted in love, each moment shaped their hearts, broadened their perspectives, and strengthened their sense of community.

“With hearts full of hope, we go. One Hope, One Body. Led by our youth, connected by faith, and moved by love.” | Minister for Youth, Marcia Quintanilla.

Each day of the mission was documented by a different youth participant, whose personal reflections and insights invite others to walk alongside them—to feel, grow, and discover through their experiences.

In front of the majestic Volcán Arenal, the Costa Rica Mission Trip team from Christ Church Cathedral paused for a moment of reflection.

“Mud-soaked shoes and language barriers couldn’t stop the faith and friendships that grew on this trip.” —Thomas W.

“Helpfulness and joy—where every act of kindness reveals Christ among us.” —Aaliyah G.

Have you been following along on their incredible journey? If not, now is the perfect time to catch up:

“Jesus is showing up in every corner of Costa Rica: in sanding walls, teamwork, laughter, and even playing hacky sack.” —Logan F. (aka Luxurious Locks).
