With over 32 years as a priest, Father Javier Rivera arrives in Fort Worth to grow the El Jardín Network, a multi-church movement connecting the Hispanic community through faith and fellowship.
Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Father Javier was ordained in 1993 as a Claretian Missionary and later received Episcopal orders in Puerto Rico. He served 25 years in the Dominican Republic and 15 years in Puerto Rico, and since 2010 has guided three Episcopal communities in Puerto Rico. He holds degrees in Theology, Philosophy, and School Administration and has led community projects, including renewable energy initiatives. Father Javier is married to Lesley Cortes, and they have three children.
This fall, small discussion groups are forming across Fort Worth to cultivate the El Jardín Network. Sacraments and spiritual guidance will be available through Trinity Episcopal Church, with bilingual services led by Father Javier.
