For the 4th year in a row, Calvary Episcopal Preparatory won district One Act Play competition and heads to State competition with this year’s powerful and moving of “I Never Saw Another Butterfly.” Calvary’s Middle School One Act Play students blew away an audience that included their competitors with their performance of “I never saw another butterfly”. The play tells the story of Jewish children passing through Terezin, of which only 100 survived of the 15,000 children. Raja was one of those survivors and this play tells their story. Karsyn Jones who played the Irena won the deserving award of Best Actress; Aubree Kuperus and William Broussard won All-Star Cast, and Zara Chinwuba won a tech award for lighting. The play rated as the best performance, qualifying our actors and crew to proceed to state competition in Lewisville on April 26th. “I Never Saw Another Butterfly” was directed by Hunter Baen, Lauren Rios and Jenny Jones. A very special thanks to Susarah Williams for costumes and Paula Smith for guidance and dedication to CEP students!
