EDOT in Partnership with Backstory Preaching Receives $1.25M Grant for Compelling Preaching Initiative

The diocese was recently notified that it is one of 81 organizations to receive funding through Lilly Endowment’s Compelling Preaching Initiative’s competitive grant process. In partnership with Backstory Preaching,
the $1.25M initiative will foster and support preaching that inspires, encourages, and guides people to come to know and love God and to live out their Christian faith more fully.

Doug Travis, priest in charge, celebrated and preached his last sermon at Good Shepherd, Granbury, before retiring a second time. His first retirement was from his job as Dean and President Emeritus of the Episcopal Theological Seminary of the Southwest in Austin.
