The Episcopal Asiamerican Ministries (EAM) South Asian Convocation gathered for its annual Leadership Meeting from September 2–4, 2025, at Camp Allen, hosted by the Episcopal Diocese of Texas. Clergy and lay leaders from across the country came together for a time of prayer, reflection, and collaboration around God’s mission in South Asian communities.

The meeting featured keynote addresses from The Rt. Rev. C. Andrew Doyle, Bishop of Texas, and The Rt. Rev. Jos Tharakan, Bishop of Idaho. Bishop Doyle encouraged participants to root their leadership in Christ while embracing creative responses to the changing context of the church. Bishop Jos spoke on the cost and joy of discipleship, highlighting the resilience and faithfulness needed in multicultural and interfaith settings. These three days were spent in theological reflection, sharing of missional insights, and collaborative learning. Leaders engaged in small group conversations and plenary sessions, strengthening networks of support and imagining new possibilities for ministry across diocesan and cultural boundaries.
Dr. Jo Ann Lagman, Asia Missioner, provided leadership throughout the convocation, guiding participants in engaging and sharing the dreams and concerns about the Asian Ministries.
The gathering was marked by fellowship, discernment, and hope, reaffirming the Episcopal Church’s commitment to nurture leadership and support vibrant South Asian ministries. With renewed vision and strengthened faith, participants returned to their communities ready to live more fully into God’s mission.
