Around 100 people gathered in Houston on Saturday, July 25, for a prayerful march honoring the life of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo and standing in solidarity with his family.
Religious leaders from different faith traditions, including Episcopal clergy and lay leaders, walked alongside Salgado Araujo’s son, family members, friends and community advocates. Together, they prayed, remembered his life and asked for healing, justice, transparency and an approach to immigration enforcement that respects the dignity of every person.
The gathering began at Remembrance Park and continued toward Houston City Hall. Through prayer and public witness, participants affirmed that immigrant communities should be treated with humanity, compassion and respect.
