“Feed My Sheep”: Nourishing Our Neighbors, Renewing Our Hope

What does it mean to feed our neighbors? At the Diocese of Texas’ 2026 Clergy Conference, held October 19–21 at Camp Allen, clergy reflected on feeding as an act of care that goes beyond food. Together, they considered how their ministries can build meaningful connections, respond to their communities’ needs, and nurture hope amid uncertainty.

Under the theme “Food Ministries: If You Love Me, Feed My Sheep,” sessions explored hunger relief, spiritual nourishment, migration, artificial intelligence, community health, and ministry. Through theological reflection and practical insights, clergy learned about resources and approaches to help their congregations care for their neighbors as whole persons, attending to their physical, mental, and spiritual needs.

Alongside the learning, there was time for worship, laughter, rest, and connection. These shared moments offered encouragement for the work ahead and a reminder that hope grows as we nurture it together and put it into action.
