Katie Sherrod, longtime communicator in the North Region, was recently celebrated at a reception in her honor for stalwart service to both the Diocese of Texas as well as the former Episcopal Church of North Texas. For years, Katie provided expertise and brought visibility to both the former diocese and its congregations, managing Communications for the former diocese. Upon reunification with the Diocese of Texas, and for the last several years, Katie assisted the diocesan Communications Team as a contractor primarily serving the congregations of the North Region to ensure continuity in communications in and beyond that space. Her relationships are longstanding, and she is well-respected.
In attendance were the Most Rev. Sean Rowe, the Rt. Rev. Brian R. Seage (North Region) and the Rt. Rev. Scott Mayer (of the Diocese of Northwest, Tx), along with other clergy, parishioners, and community leaders. Recognized with a Bishop’s Award, letter from Bishop Doyle, and words from the presiding bishop and others, Katie shared her kind expressions.
All who have worked with Katie are grateful for the gifts she has shared in her many capacities. As she pulls back from this work, it is with thanksgiving that we express gratitude for all that she will continue to do in her other work across both the diocese and the Church. Again, we thank Katie for her contributions throughout the Church.
