Please keep the family of Mary Lou Shuffler, the widow of the Rev. Ralph Shuffler, in your prayers. Mary Lou died on January 9, 2026, while in hospice care.
Services will be held on Friday, January 16 at 2pm, at Trinity Episcopal Church in Galveston, with the Rev. Jimmy Abbott officiating.
Internment will immediately follow the service, interring both Mary Lou and her husband, Ralph, in the Trinity Episcopal Columbarium.
May her soul, and the souls of all the departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen

Marilyn passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 7, 2026.

Please keep the family of the Rev. John R. Pitts who died on December 23, 2025. He was Canon to the Ordinary in the Diocese of Texas from 1990-91. John also served at St. John the Divine, Houston; St. Matthew’s, Austin; St. Paul’s, Pflugerville; Holy Spirit, Houston; and most recently at Christ Church Cathedral, Houston.
A funeral service will be held at Christ Church Cathedral in Houston at 10am on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, officiated by the Rt. Rev. C. Andrew Doyle, the Very Rev. Nathaniel Katz, and the Rev. Leigh Spruill.
Clergy are invited to process and vest, with white stoles.
