A group of acolytes from Saint Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Bryan traveled to Washington, D.C., to participate in the National Acolyte Festival at the Washington National Cathedral on Saturday, October 11.
Saint Andrew’s was the only parish from Texas represented at this year’s festival, joining hundreds of acolytes from across the country for a weekend of worship, formation, and fellowship. The youth processed in the grand festival Eucharist, met acolytes from other dioceses, and toured the historic cathedral, experiencing firsthand the beauty and breadth of the Washington National Cathedral.
“This was an incredible opportunity for our acolytes to see how their ministry connects to the wider Church,” said Jennifer Lilleker, Director of Children and Youth Ministries at Saint Andrew’s, whose careful planning and coordination made the trip possible. “They came home energized, proud, and ready to serve with renewed purpose.”
The group also spent time visiting national landmarks and reflecting together on faith, leadership, and what it means to serve God in both local and global contexts.
Located in historic downtown Bryan, Saint Andrew’s Episcopal Church is a growing parish recognized for its commitment to worship, outreach, and community engagement throughout the Brazos Valley.
