St. Alban’s, Waco, Celebrates 80 Years on Palm Sunday

On Palm Sunday 1946, St. Alban’s Waco held its first service. Forty-six people gathered for Morning Prayer in rented space. Afterwards, the congregation met at the site of their future church to break ground for their first building. Eighty years later, on Palm Sunday 2026, St. Alban’s Waco gathered at that same spot for a celebration of this milestone, capturing the moment with a parish-wide photo. Across five Sunday services, hundreds of worshipers remembered and gave thanks for those who stepped out in faith in 1946. As St. Alban’s steps into its 90th decade, the congregation joyfully continues its mission to proclaim to all, in word and deed, the grace of God in Jesus Christ.
