St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, Lampasas, Marks 150 Years of Faith and Service

St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Lampasas began in 1873, when the Rt. Rev. Alexander Gregg, first Bishop of Texas, licensed Dr. Thomas S. Denny as a lay reader for a small group of Episcopalians. St. Mary’s was formally organized as a mission of the Diocese of Texas in 1875. From these modest beginnings, the parish has grown into a vibrant faith community of 110 baptized members, drawing inspiration from generations of devoted leaders and families who have sustained the church throughout its long history.
