St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Lampasas began in 1873, when the Rt. Rev. Alexander Gregg, first Bishop of Texas, licensed Dr. Thomas S. Denny as a lay reader for a small group of Episcopalians. From these modest beginnings, the parish has grown into a vibrant faith community of 110 baptized members, drawing inspiration from generations of devoted leaders and families who have sustained the church throughout its long history.
