Mosaic in Action Helps Community Rebuild After Winter Freeze

In the aftermath of Winter Storm Uri, Mosaic in Action is working to provide relief. The non-profit has partnered with Brazoria Responds and Craftsmen for Christ Texas, as well as local volunteers, handymen, and plumbers in Brazoria County. They are working with these community partners to coordinate disaster relief and volunteer opportunities.

Founded by St. Andrew’s, Pearland, in the wake of Hurricane Harvey, Mosaic in Action is a non-profit dedicated to improving single family housing conditions through repair, rebuilding, and barrier removal programs for homeowners in Brazoria County, Texas in order to provide safe, sanitary, and secure housing for those in need.

While Mosaic in Action primarily focuses on Brazoria County, they are partnered with Houston Responds and SEWA International who are providing relief and support to those in the Greater Houston area. They recommend contacting Crisis Cleanup to look for volunteer opportunities and to request help within the Houston area.

The spirit of generosity is alive in Brazoria County. St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church of Pearland has generously donated 100% of their church t-shirt sales to Mosaic in Action’s Winter Storm Uri Relief Fund. Many members of the congregation are eager to volunteer within the Brazoria County community to help with the necessary mucking of houses. A few parishioners have already volunteered at sites throughout the county.

Help has arrived from all corners. Mosaic in Action coordinated the delivery of $4,000 of plumbing equipment from Phoenix, Arizona this weekend, which they distributed to local handymen, plumbers, and Craftsmen for Christ Texas.

Members of the community can connect online to learn more about Mosaic in Action, request disaster relief, or volunteer to give others assistance.
