San Romero, Houston, Celebrates Their Patron Feast Day

On March 27, San Romero, Houston, celebrated their Patron Feast Day in honor of Saint Oscar Romero and also the day of Hispanic Heritage. The Rev. Uriel Lopez, vicar of the church, presented Oscar Romero as a prophet and martyr beyond borders.

The celebration included a fiesta in which members of the different countries of origin participated. The parish has members whose countries of origin are the United States, El Salvador, Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Guatemala, Chile, and Peru. Each group shared their cultural heritage with traditional dishes and dances.

It is worth noting the participation of asylum-seeking families from Venezuela and Guatemala whom San Romero has supported since they arrived and are considered part of their church family.
