In the summer of 2019, Mackenzie Campbell-Furtick began working part time as the Campus Missioner at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Stephenville. Her primary role is to serve as a liaison between St. Luke’s and the students at Tarleton State University, which is just across the street from St. Luke’s.
At the 172nd Diocesan Council, the Racial Justice Initiative was announced. $13M was committed to fund racial reconciliation scholarships and projects.
The Brotherhood of St. Andrew presented scholarships to Class of 2023 graduates. The winner of this year’s top scholarship was Bella Boulter, Christ Church, Tyler. Bella is the daughter of the Rev. Dr. Matt and Bouquet Boulter. The Rev. Dr. Boulter is the rector of the Christ Church.
Misión Santa Fé Church Plant, Plum Grove, initially envisioned in November 2020 in the midst of the pandemic currently has 72 members and averages between 35-40 each Sunday evening. Located in a master-planned community called Santa Fé, near Cleveland, they first began meeting in homes. Now, they meet in a community center within the community.
The Rev. Noah Stansbury discovered the Book of Common Prayer in college and has been on the Canterbury trail ever since. He is excited to join Austin Canterbury, continuing his work in campus ministry.
