Mission Statement of Music Commission

By appointment of the Bishop, the Church Music Commission serves the laity and clergy of the Diocese of Texas by providing support services regarding the conduct and performance of worship music at both the parish and Diocesan levels. The Commission aids local parish musicians in their continuing education of church members.

Diocesan Choral Festival

67th Annual Diocesan (Adult) Choral Festival, Fall 2026, Houston. All singers are welcome to join us for an afternoon of rehearsal and Festival Service, led by a noted conductor. There is no fee to register.

Music Camp Registration

May 31-June 5, 2026

The 2025 Diocesan Music Camp for students in rising grades 6-12!  A week-long camp with vocal & instrumental training.

Stay in the dorm at Texas A&M University with music activities at St. Andrew’s, Bryan. Training by professional Episcopal musicians. Rotations in vocal & instrumental music including brass, strings, keyboard, and handbells. Tuition, including room and board, is $ 750 with scholarships available through the Gilbert & Thyra Plass Arts Foundation. No audition is needed—all with interest in singing and instrumental instruction are welcome. Deadline to apply is May 1, 2026.
