Leaders from the Diocese of Texas Join the Kanuga Fellows Program (KFP)

Four members of the Diocese of Texas have been selected to participate in the Kanuga Fellows Program (KFP). A faith-based spiritual leadership initiative that nurtures a deep connection between God, nature, and the call to lead with wisdom and grace. The group recently completed their first residency at Kanuga.

Rooted in the Episcopal tradition and inspired by Godโ€™s creation, the Kanuga Fellows Program equips leaders to grow spiritually while learning from the natural world. Through prayer, reflection, and immersive outdoor experiences, participants cultivate servant-hearted leadership, deepen their awareness of Godโ€™s presence in creation, and strengthen their sense of purpose. Practical management and leadership skills are woven into this spiritual and ecological framework, ensuring a holistic approach to ministry.

This two-year residency includes four in-person immersions at Kanuga, during which each cohort forms a diverse and supportive community of leaders committed to sustained and thoughtful ministry.

Participants from the Diocese of Texas include:

  • The Rev. Carissa Baldwin-McGinnis (St. Stephenโ€™s, Houston)
  • Lori Blewett (St. Davidโ€™s, Austin)
  • Roger Hutchison (Palmer Memorial Episcopal Church, Houston)
  • Helen Pelkey (Palm Valley Lutheran Church, Round Rock)
  • Jessica Riels (Good Shepherd, Austin)
