Parent Volunteers
Parents who assist no more than six times a year with a program in which their child is enrolled are exempt from Safeguarding screening and training requirements. Such assistance includes providing transportation but does not include serving as a Qualified Adult or in any role that includes supervisory responsibilities or being alone with a single child or youth other than a member of their family.
The following video is an overview of the Safeguarding Policies for The Protection of Children, Youth, and Adults for those serving as volunteers no more than 6 times a year. It is not intended to be a replacement for Safeguarding screening and training but an introductory resource for volunteers helping in school classrooms and youth programs. Volunteers play a big part in helping to create a culture of health and safety in our communities.
