The Episcopal Diocese of Texas respects the dignity of every human being. We want our congregations and communities to be safe spaces for people of all ages.
All sexual abuse, sexual exploitation, sexual harassment, bullying, and discrimination should be reported to the head of your congregation or organization so that it can be addressed and stopped. To the extent possible, the report will be kept confidential, and retaliation for reporting will not be permitted.
Any misconduct involving a member of the clergy or involving the head of the organization should be reported directly to the Diocese through the Rev. Canon Lisa Hines, Canon for Wellness and Care and Safeguarding Minister, at 512.609.1876 or or through the Rev. Canon Christine Faulstich, Canon to the Ordinary, at 713.353.2117.
Misconduct reported to a head of congregation or organization that goes unaddressed may also be reported directly to the Diocese as directed above.
Not sure that you need to report? Contact Canon Hines for a confidential conversation. Reports may be made in any form, but an example of the information to include can be found in this Confidential Notice of Concern.
Note that under Texas Law, anyone who thinks a child, an adult age 65 or older or with disabilities is being abused, neglected, or exploited must report it the Department of Family Protective Services at 1.800.252.5400 or Texas Abuse Hotline.
