Some began their time together at the diocesan office in Houston with Conflict Tools Training, creating space for learning, conversation, and shared leadership. Answering the Call: St. David’s, Austin, Hosts Interfaith Vigil for Humane Prison Conditions

St. David’s Episcopal Church in Austin hosted “Answering the Call,” an interfaith event and vigil on Sept. 23 to raise awareness of extreme heat in Texas prisons and advocate for access to air conditioning. Organized alongside Texas Prisons Community Advocates and the 85 to Stay Alive Campaign, the event centered on a shared conviction: every person deserves dignity, compassion and protection from dangerous conditions, including those in prison. Episcopalians Join Houston Faith Leaders in Prayer for Healing, Justice and Migration with Dignity

Around 100 people gathered in Houston on Saturday, July 25, for a prayerful march honoring the life of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo and standing in solidarity with his family. Religious leaders from different faith traditions, including Episcopal clergy and lay leaders, walked alongside Salgado Araujo’s son, family members, friends and community advocates. Together, they prayed, remembered his life and asked for healing, justice, transparency and an approach to immigration enforcement that respects the dignity of every person.
