Let’s Commemorate the César Ch√°vez Holiday with More than Platitudes

March 31 is the birthday of César Ch√°vez, the farm labor leader who dedicated his life to improving the wages and working conditions of agricultural workers, one of the country’s poorest and most exploited groups of laborers. It is also one of the most ethnically and racially identifiable groups. Texas provides a large share of these workers, at home and around the nation.

The 170thDiocesan Council of the Episcopal Diocese of Texas held its annual gathering in The Woodlands, Texas, on February 21-23, 2019. During this time, over 600 Texas Episcopalians met to vote for a new Bishop Suffragan, elect members to diocesan boards, celebrate Bishop Dena Harrison, attend workshops and learn of the vision Bishop Andy Dole has for the future of the Diocese.
